Become a Top-Rated Spotter
Great Spotters don't just know people; they know opportunities. Here's how to make referrals that get hired (and get you paid).
1. Relevance is King
Don't spray and pray. Only refer candidates who match at least 80% of the job requirements. Your Spotter Score drops with every rejected referral.
2. Context Matters
A resume tells what they did. You tell how they did it. Use the referral note to highlight soft skills, work ethic, or specific wins you witnessed.
3. Verify Interest
Never submit a blind referral. Always talk to the candidate first. Ensure they are actually looking and interested in this specific role.
Ethics & Rules of the Road
Consent is Mandatory
You must obtain explicit permission from a candidate before sharing their personal data (resume, email, phone) with Spotterful or any Employer. We audit this.
Conflict of Interest
You cannot refer yourself. You generally cannot refer direct family members if you are part of the hiring decision process (for internal employees). Always disclose your relationship.
Quality Guarantee
Most bounties have a retention period (usually 90 days). If your candidate leaves or is fired before then, the bounty is not paid. This ensures long-term fit.
